M.anifest: TikTok is a Game-Changer for Artists
Ghanaian rapper M.anifest has shared his fascination with TikTok, calling it a “game-changer” for independent artists.
In a recent interview, he revealed spending up to nine hours a week on the app, captivated by the creativity of content creators, particularly those from Kumasi.
“Kumasi TikTok is very interesting to me. They’re very creative people who are doing all sorts of skits,” M.anifest noted, adding that the platform helps preserve local languages like Twi.
He also highlighted how TikTok’s algorithm acts as an equalizer, allowing artists outside major markets like the US and Europe to go viral.
However, he admitted the platform brings new challenges, as musicians must now act as their own marketing tools and content creators.
Despite the extra work, M.anifest views this as the modern version of public performance, essential for success in today’s music industry.
